Ruth Tomalin
British/Irish author and poet. Born in 1919 in Kilkenny, Ireland, but was brought up on the Sussex/Hampshire border in England. Her father, as well as being a gardener was also a writer. Ms. Tomalin studied journalism, worked on the land, in stables, and as a reporter. She always loved the countryside and animals and spent much of her spare time watching wildlife. Her books and poetry reflect this interest and knowledge.
